Dr. Laurie Scarbrough is a valued veterinarian at Bluffton Veterinary Hospital.
My childhood ambition was always to work with animals and I had a zoo of pets growing up in Alabama. However, I started my career in marine biology with a BS degree from the University of South Alabama and work with the Auburn University Marine Research Extension and Dauphin Island Sea Lab. Although I loved my years as a marine research technician, I followed my true calling to veterinary medicine at Auburn University and graduated in 1997. After practicing in Michigan and Pawleys Island, South Carolina, my husband Chris and I bought Bluffton Veterinary Hospital in 2001. It has been a real pleasure to grow with this community and to meet so many wonderful people and the special pets that share their lives. We now feel Bluffton is our real home and look forward to raising our three children (Willow, Chloe, Oscar) here in the Lowcountry. We consider it a privilege to care for the pets and people of this community.
