Laurie Scarbrough, DVM
My childhood ambition was always to work with animals and I had a zoo of pets growing up in Alabama. However, I started my career in marine biology with a BS degree from the University of South Alabama and work with the Auburn University Marine Research Extension and Dauphin Island Sea Lab. Although I loved my years as a marine research technician, I followed my true calling to veterinary medicine at Auburn University and graduated in 1997. After practicing in Michigan and Pawleys Island, SC, my husband Chris and I bought Bluffton Veterinary Hospital in 2001. It has been a real pleasure to grow with this community and to meet so many wonderful people and the special pets that share their lives. We now feel Bluffton is our real home and look forward to raising our 3 children (Willow, Chloe, Oscar) here in the Lowcountry. We consider it a privilege to care for the pets and people of this community.

Christopher T Conley, DVM
I would like to thank you for taking the time to learn more about Bluffton Veterinary Hospital and our staff. My name is Christopher Conley and I have been a resident of Bluffton since February of 2001. My wife, Laurie, and I moved here from Pawleys Island and purchased BVH as a small one doctor practice. As a result of dedication and hard work we have turned this once small practice into the premiere pet care facility in the lowcountry, but our road here was a long one. I grew up in Lexington, KY and attended Depauw Universtity in Greencastle, IN and graduated with a major in Biology and a minor in Philosophy. I also played varsity soccer and ran cross country. Throughout my college experience I developed a passion for veterinary medicine through voluntering for a local humane society and working each summer at a veterinary hospital. Upon graduation I applied to several veterinary schools and was fortunate enough to be accepted to Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine. It was one of the most exhilerating days of my life to learn my dream of attending one of the premier veterinary schools in the country had come true.
While at school I met my wife and future business partners Laurie (Dr Scarbrough around the hospital to avoid confusion) and Dr Chad Nance. Upon graduation Laurie and I moved to Detroit, MI where I completed a 1 year internship at Michigan Veterinary Specialists. Through this grueling 80 hour/week program I learned extensive advanced surgical and medical skills I still draw upon daily.

Travis Davison, DVM
My name is Travis Davison and I am a January 2008 graduate of the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. I grew up in Charleston, SC and Wilmington, NC, and attended the College of Charleston for my undergraduate studies. After working for a year and a half out of college, I decided to make a drastic career change to veterinary medicine. That decision led to 6 more years of school, took me through two countries and now to Bluffton. My wife, Cari, is a physical therapist here in Bluffton as well and we have a son named Everett. My animal family includes my dogs Grady, Tilly, and Sullivan. Within veterinary medicine my interests include internal medicine, ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, and oncology. I became a partner in the practice in 2017.

After graduating high school I attended Clemson University, where I earned my degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences. I spent the next four years at The University of Georgia earning my doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. After eight years of working summers at BVH, I have returned as a DVM. Dana Resetarits, DVM
After completing my undergraduate education in Western New York, I graduated from NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. I practiced briefly in the frigid weather of the New York area before returning to the South. I am proud to have called the Lowcountry my home for the past 19 years.
Over this time, I have had the opportunity to live and practice in Beaufort, Hilton Head, Savannah and am now thrilled to join the team at Bluffton Veterinary Hospital.
Recently married (2019), my husband and I enjoy spending time with our families and friends. We also love to travel the world and have experienced many wonderful adventures together. Snorkeling, scuba diving, skiing, and jet skiing are some of the activities we enjoy.
I look forward to my future practicing veterinary medicine with my new "family" at Bluffton Veterinary Hospital. Being in an environment that enables me to provide the best possible care to my patients is a most rewarding experience.

My name is Matthew Tenwolde. I'm a recent addition to the Bluffton area (2019), a transplant from sunny California. Born and raised in San Diego, I followed my passion for veterinary medicine to pursue an undergraduate degree in Animal Science followed by my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis in 2007. After completing a year long internship at The Ohio State University, I returned to Northern California and focused my career in the field of emergency medicine. More recently, I completed another internship in surgery. During my emergency tenure, I met my wife, Bobbi Jean, a Bluffton native. We have 2 beautiful children; Wyatt Stone and Charlie Pearl. In our precious spare time we love to be out on the water, going to festivals and cooking for the family. I am excited to be a part of Bluffton Veterinary Hospital and the Bluffton community!
